More about Arts & Culture on WXXI
WXXI is dedicated to spotlighting the arts and vibrant cultural life in Rochester. That's why Arts Friday on AM1370 features new exhibits at the Memorial Art Gallery, George Eastman House and the ROCO. That's why WXXI-TV's Need to Know dedicates a special segment every month to the arts. It's why Classical 91.5 produced Live From Hochstein, and broadcasts the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra season each year. It's also why WXXI has produced so many documentaries about local artists' works – like Albert Paley: Man of Steel, Head Heart and Hand: Elbert Hubbard and the Roycrofters, and Horses on Parade.
While WXXI shares Rochester's treasures with viewers across the country, it also exposes its own audience here at home to arts and culture around the globe, with PBS programs like American Masters, American Experience, and Live at Lincoln Center, and NPR features on the hottest authors, newest musicians, famous photographers and trendiest artists.
In this section of our site, you'll find details on arts and cultural programming on WXXI TV and Radio, as well as information about special events hosted by WXXI. It is frequently updated, so visit often.
