
On September 9, 2025 WXXI presented a special week of curated programming to commemorate of HBCU Week and celebrated the group of academic institutions that are classified by the U.S. Government as Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Our programming paid tribute to their legacy of promoting equal opportunities for high-quality education by featuring the under-told stories of sacrifice, courage, innovation, and hope found in the archives of these HBCUs.
