CITY is back on newsstands!

We are excited that CITY News is back in publication this month with the launch of a new monthly magazine. At the end of March, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend printing the weekly CITY Newspaper and transitioned all stories and reporting online to roccitynews.org. After a great deal of planning, CITY is back in print – only now with the integration of the WXXI Program Guide into the publication. Next month – and every month moving forward – you will receive CITY with a special section dedicated to WXXI, where we’ll share programming and event content you’ve enjoyed in the Program Guide for years.

COVID-19 has forced us to work differently and to be creative – and this move to unify our efforts is the best way for us to maximize budgets and staff. WXXI looks forward to extending and strengthening our partnership with CITY and we know you’ll enjoy the stories, photography, and information arriving at your door each month.

Helping to make Rochester a healthier community

Though WXXI is known for many things – balanced news coverage, engaging educational programs, dedication to the arts – one of the efforts I’m most proud of is WXXI’s commitment to making Rochester a healthier community. In early 2007, we invited community health leaders to discuss how public media could be better used to increase the wellness of our region.

Post-Election Coverage

The election results are in, and though it may be easy to see who the winners are, it may not be as easy to see what it means to New York State or the nation as a whole. WXXI does an exceptional job reporting on election night, however, it is the evaluation and analysis of those results in the days and weeks following that defines the news service you get from public media.

Tune in to WXXI for continuous election coverage on November 2

As the election season comes to a close, I'd encourage you to tune in to WXXI on Election Night to keep on top of all our local and national races. WXXI's news team will be providing results and analysis with 1370 Connection’s Bob Smith and WXXI’s Center for Public Affairs News Director Julie Philipp in studio corralling up-to-the-minute reports from our field corespondents.
