Women's History Month
By Norm Silverstein ~ Posted Mon, 03/18/2013 - 11:53am
March is Women's History Month, and WXXI's investment in bringing the stories and experiences of women can be seen across all of our services. Many of you watched "Makers: Women Who Make America" (featuring Ursula Burns, CEO of Xerox, and the first African-American woman to run a Fortune 500 company) or attended the free screening of the program at the Little Theatre. Now, beginning March 22nd, The Little will be holding a Women's History Film Series which runs for seven days and includes selections from around the globe. For complete information on the series, films and times, you can visit the Little's web site.
In fact, WXXI's web site includes a page detailing a variety of programs featuring the women who shaped the world and those who continue to impact it. When you go to WXXI.org/wh you'll be able to preview upcoming shows and events including television specials, classical radio features — as well as the aforementioned film series at The Little. As the birthplace of Susan B. Anthony's suffrage movement, Rochester can proudly celebrate women in history, and WXXI invites the community to discover everything we have to offer.
