
Volunteers are key to the production of ANTIQUES ROADSHOW! Below you will find helpful information on volunteer requirements and the perks, plus a form to register. If you have any questions after reviewing the information, please email volunteer@wxxi.org and include “AR volunteer” in the subject line.
If you are selected to be a volunteer, you will receive an email confirmation and more information on May 5, 2026. You will also receive a volunteer handbook ahead of the training session.
ANTIQUES ROADSHOW EVENT Details:
When: Wednesday, June 17, 2026
Where: Genesee Country Village & Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Rd Mumford, NY 14511 (map)
Volunteer requirements:
– Minimum age is 18.
– Must attend an on-site mandatory training session on the day before the event from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
– All volunteers must show a government-issued photo ID at the check-in table for training the day before.
– All volunteers must commit to assisting on event day for the entire day from 6:30am to approximately 7:30pm.*
– All positions require standing or walking throughout the 12+-hour event.
*Some volunteers may be released early and some may be asked to stay slightly later. The exact release time depends on the volunteer’s specific task and how many attendees are at the event.
Volunteer tasks at the event (assignments will be given by ANTIQUES ROADSHOW staff at the training session, we can not accept assignment requests):
– Front-of-house volunteers greet and direct attendees and press to their check-in areas, scan attendee tickets, attach wrist bands, hand out event guides, direct people to the triage line, and answer questions.
– Triage volunteers escort attendees from the generalist appraisers to the correct appraisal line for a specialist.
– Production set volunteers manage the appraisal lines and assist the crew on the set as needed. This may include securing the recording areas, directing crowd flow, and acting as “runners” for the ROADSHOW producers.
Volunteers will receive:
– Verbal appraisals for any two items you bring (These will happen later in the day. Secure locations for storage are not always available for items.).
– An ANTIQUES ROADSHOW shirt, baseball cap, and identification badge
– Breakfast, lunch, and snacks
