Illuminating the stories of extraordinary American heroines from the early years of feminism, American Masters — Unladylike2020 is a multimedia series consisting of a one-hour special for broadcast and 26 digital short films featuring courageous, little-known and diverse female trailblazers from the turn of the 20th century. The American Masters UNLADYLIKE2020 website launched  in March for Women’s History Month, and continues through August 26, 2020, the day the 19th Amendment was signed into law. UNLADYLIKE includes:

  • 26 animated documentary short films profiling women from 100 years ago who changed America and contemporary women who now follow in their footsteps
  • A television hour featuring the stories of women trailblazers in politics and civil rights, airing nationally on PBS’ American Masters this summer
  • A grades 6-12 U.S. history curriculum, developed and distributed by PBS LearningMedia
  • The companion website is a vast interactive website featuring the stories of over 100 diverse and extraordinary women from the turn of the 20th century who broke barriers and achieved tremendous professional heights
