This is a piano-to-piano rockin' out to the greatest hits of a generation on stage at Geva Theatre Center through August 11th.  Join host Robert Hammond as he welcomes James (Billy Joel) and Mason (Elton John) to Stage Notes

DAVID JAMES (GIUDICE) was born and raised in Rochester. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Piano Performance and a two-time consecutive winner of DownBeat Magazine’s Student Music Awards for “Outstanding Performance by a Jazz Vocalist.” Don’t be confused with his stage name, David James, for his real last name is Guidice, which most locals would know him by and is still quite “Italian.” He began playing piano at the age of five, taught by his grandfather on an old, beaten up player piano he had in his garage. Before his music career took him across country and beyond, he performed extensively in the Greater Rochester area including several performances as a featured vocalist with Jeff Tyzik and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Off- Broadway, David has appeared in Our Sinatra at Birdland Jazz Club, second runner up at the first Young Artist Vocal Competition at famous Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel, and was an Anchor Dueling Pianist at Wynn Las Vegas hand-picked by Steve Wynn himself. David has appeared as an entertainer for Holland America Line Cruises and most recently headlining at Harrah’s Casino, playing the part as “Billy Joel” in his Tribute to the Piano Man Himself and Sir Elton John which led him to performances at the House of Blues, the Anaheim Grove in California as well as casinos all over the country. From New York City to Texas to Las Vegas as well as Cruise Ships all over the world, being raised Italian-American he has always had a special place in his heart for his home town of Rochester. When not performing as Billy Joel, David is writing and composing original music which you can here on his CD entitled, “Enjoy the Ride.” David just recently was accepted to Eastman School of Music to pursue his Masters and teaching degree in the fall. He is absolutely thrilled to be bringing his show back to his hometown at the wonderful Geva Theatre Center.  He would like to pay special thanks to his loving family and friends for all their support throughout his musical journey. This show is for you. ENJOY! For more information on David and his music please visit: and
