Five Broadway Musicals Coming to Rochester Featured on Stage Notes

Million Dollar Quartet, Billy Elliot, Shrek the Musical, Jersey Boys, and South Pacific.  Presented by the Rochester Broadway Theatre League and Albert Nocciolino, these five musicals are coming to Rochester as part of RBTL’s 2011-'12 season. ALBERT NOCCIOLINO serves as President  & CEO of NAC Entertainment, Ltd., a company he founded in 1976.  NAC is a diversified entertainment and theatrical company specializing in the presentation of national touring Broadway shows in New York State (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Elmira) and Pennsylvania (Scranton and Erie).  He has presented shows for over 35 years. 

In addition to directing the Broadway subscription seasons in New York and Pennsylvania, Nocciolino is responsible for producing and co-producing Broadway shows on Broadway and national touring shows across the country. He recently co-produced Driving Miss Daisy on Broadway, starring James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave. He co-produced, with the IPN, the following Broadway and national tours: Ragtime; Tony Award winner for best revival of a musical, La Cage aux Folles; Legally Blonde; Tony Award winner for best musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot; the Drama Desk and Tony Award winner for best musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie.  He has co-produced and invested in the national tours The Full Monty; Guys and Dolls,  starring Maurice Hinds; Rent; De La Guarda; Annie; Fame; Peter Pan, with Cathy Rigby; West Side Story; Jellies Last Jam; A Chorus Line: The Broadway Tour of America; Six Degrees of Separation; the Pulitzer-Prize winning play, The Piano Lesson; The Fantasticks, starring Robert Goulet; and two shows in Las Vegas: The Great Radio City Spectacular and Forever Plaid.

He has been a Tony Award voting member since 1982.  He is Vice Chair of the Broadway League (the national trade association for the Broadway industry), a founding member and Chairman of the National Touring Theatre Council, and is President of the Independent Presenters Network (IPN). 

Nocciolino and Hammond will discuss each of the musicals coming to Rochester this season.  In addition to the discussion, songs from the shows will be featured.  The music of Broadway is on Stage Notes.
