Arts Education Takes the Stage
Arts Education Takes the Stage
Sat, 08/27/2011 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Arts education takes center stage on this week’s Stage Notes. Join host Robert Hammond and his guest Bob Sagan, Director of Education and Outreach for the Rochester Broadway Theatre League, as they discuss the state of arts education in Rochester and RBTL’s “jewel educational program,” Stars of Tomorrow. Eighteen year old Shauni Ruetz, a 2011 graduate of Wayne Central School, was named best actress at the National High School Musical Theater Awards, a Glee-style competition, that took place in June in Manhattan. She qualified for the competition by winning the leading actress prize in RBTL’S Stars of Tomorrow competition. She’ll be on the program to talk about her journey to Manhattan and how arts education prepared her for college.
