12/5      From the Top features the amazing creative journeys young musicians have taken since appearing on From the Top. You'll hear from a cellist, violist, pianist, and two composers who are involved in exciting musical activities in the cities of Tacoma, New York, and Pasadena.

12/12    From the Top's line up of outstanding performers includes a local 14-year-old violist performing Schubert's beautiful Arpeggione Sonata and a talented teenage pianist who is now living with his very generous piano teacher. Plus, nine teenagers from Chicago's Percussion Scholarship Group create an especially electric finale.

12/19    This week featuring young musical talent from Louisiana, New York and Oregon with this show from the Union Theatre at Louisiana State University.

12/26    Today’s program features a 15-year-old pianist performing the music of Igor Stravinsky, a fantastic local youth orchestra performing from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and our youngest trumpet player ever - an astonishingly talented 10-year-old playing Carnival of Venice.

A legendary figure in American music joined the Gathering during its "Traditional Song Week launch: Jean Ritchie, an important figure on the New York folk scene in the 1950s and is credited with reviving interest in the mountain dulcimer. Join our intimate audience at the Swannanoa Gathering and meet songwriter and collector, dulcimer player and singer, Jean Ritchie.
