Long Road to Hope: Ending Parkinson's Disease
(Rochester, NY) – More than 10 million people worldwide have Parkinson’s disease, including 1.2 million Americans. Each day, 200 more are diagnosed, and 100 die. The University of Rochester Center for Health + Technology looks at how to address and prevent Parkinson’s disease, now the fastest growing neurological disorder in the world.
Speaking with 12 Parkinson’s patients, UR Medical Center’s neurologist Ray Dorsey, M.D. and Bas Bloem, M.D., Ph.D. with Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands discuss the global effort required to address it. Long Road to Hope: Ending Parkinson's Disease airs Monday, September 5 at 9 p.m. on WXXI-TV. It repeats Saturday, September 10 at 5 p.m. on WXXI-TV.
