(Rochester, NY) – Celebrate our country’s 245th birthday with a star-studded musical extravaganza, A Capitol Fourth 2021, airing Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV. The 41st edition of America’s Independence Day celebration features performances by top stars from pop, country, R&B, classical, and Broadway, capped off with patriotic classics and a spectacular fireworks display over the iconic Washington, DC skyline. This top-rated extravaganza features coverage from 20 cameras positioned around Washington, D.C., ensuring viewers are front and center for the greatest display of fireworks in the nation.

In the four decades since the humble beginning of A Capitol Fourth, a parade of superstars — including Frankie Valli, Patti LaBelle, John Williams, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Reba McEntire, Carole King, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, Steve Martin, Josh Groban, and the Muppets from Sesame Street — has offered the best in American entertainment and helped set the tone for a spectacular American birthday party.
