Steven Page Trio – Live in Concert

(Rochester, NY) – Steven Page  Trio – Live in Concert, airing Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10 p.m. on WXXI-TV, features the music of Steven Page, a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter, and co-founder and former lead vocalist for Barenaked Ladies. Taped at the intimate Empire Theater in Belleville, Ontario, the program features hit songs from Page’s days with the Canadian Music Hall of Fame-inducted band, including “Jane,” “Call and Answer” and “Brian Wilson,” among others. Plus, Page performs new favorites from his recent solo albums Page One; Heal Thyself, Pt. I: Instinct; and Discipline: Heal Thyself, Pt II.

Joined on stage by Craig Northey (guitar, vocals) and Kevin Fox (cello, vocals), Page showcases his distinctive and powerful tenor, which is among the most instantly recognizable voices in popular music. He also offers interesting stories and funny quips about the songs throughout the performance.

After leaving the Barenaked Ladies, Page started a solo career and released Page One, an album of all-original material, in 2010. He later released singles including “A Different Sort of Solitude” and “Manchild” in 2012. It wasn’t until 2016 that Page released another album, Heal Thyself, Pt. I: Instinct, which quickly became a hit among fans nationwide. He followed that up with Discipline: Heal Thyself, Pt II in 2018. Page reunited with the Barenaked Ladies on stage at the Juno Awards in 2018, marking the band’s induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

When not creating new songs, Page keeps busy with other projects. He has composed six Stratford Festival scores, performed with his rock star pals as a member of the Trans-Canada Highwaymen, and hosted the television show The Illegal Eater.
