Little Steven and the Disciples: Soulfire Live

(Rochester, NY) -- Little Steven and the Disciples: Soulfire Live, airing on WXXI-TV on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 10 p.m., features an electrifying collection of the band’s best performances from their North American and European concerts. Featuring the vocals of rock legend and E Street Band founding member Stevie Van Zandt, the show keeps audiences enthralled as they blast through an arsenal of songs spanning rock, pop, soul, blues, funk, and everything in between.

Van Zandt’s 2017 “Soulfire” album was his first solo album in nearly 20 years and scored a spot on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2017. With the success, the Soulfire LIVE! tour hit the road in 2018, traveling to audiences across Europe and the U.S. Now, this public television special captures the best moments from the tour, celebrating the music of “Soulfire.” The program revisits songs that span the length of Van Zandt’s career, including  “Sweet Soul Music,” “I'm Coming Back,” “Soulfire,” and “I Don't Want to Go Home.”

Well-known as being a part of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street band, Van Zandt went on to become a solo artist by founding Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. While not working on his own music, Van Zandt branched out into acting, playing Silvio Dante on the Sopranos, one of the most critically acclaimed television shows in history. In addition, Van Zandt also worked as a music producer and supervisor, and founded Little Steven’s Underground Garage, a radio show that takes people on a two-hour tour each week through the six decades of rock and roll, and its roots.
