Little Women on Masterpiece

(Rochester, NY) - Loved by generations of women worldwide, Little Women is a truly universal coming of age story. Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, the story follows sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March on their journey from childhood to adulthood. With the help of their mother, Marmee, and while their father is away at war, the girls navigate what it means to be young women: from sibling rivalry and first love, to loss and marriage. Little Women on Masterpiece airs Sundays, May 13 and 20, 2018 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV.

Episode 1 airs May 13 at 8 p.m With their father away at war, the March sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy come to terms with their new life alongside their mother, Marmee. The girls also make friends with Laurie, the new boy next door.  

Episode 2 and 3 air May 20 at 8 p.m The March family fears the worst when Mr. March falls ill, and Marmee must travel to Washington to care for him. At Christmas, Jo receives a wonderful surprise. Laurie tries to tell Jo how he feels about her, and John Brooke proposes to Meg before enlisting in the Union army. Amy gets the chance to travel to Europe, and Jo moves to New York to pursue her writing, but Beth’s health is failing, and the family must come together to face their most difficult challenge yet.
