Backstage Pass with the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra

(Rochester, NY) – Backstage Pass welcomes the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra to WXXI's studios on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5. Host Julia Figueras with introduce you to Dr. James Mick, the RPYO Music Director, along with two mentors, a couple of the musicians, and members of the board, as well.  Respighi, Fauré, and more will be heard. 

The Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (RPYO) is a symphony orchestra comprised of young musicians in grades eight through 12 from schools throughout the greater Rochester area. The RPYO is sponsored by the Education Department of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra whose musicians serve as mentors and coaches to the RPYO and join them in the annual Side-by-Side concert in Eastman Theatre.

Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists – giving Classical 91.5/90.3/FM-HD 91.5-1 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.

This Backstage Pass program will repeat Sunday, November 12 at 1 p.m.on Classical 91.5.
