Man & Beast with Martin Clunes
(Rochester, NY) Humans have depended upon animals for labor, food and companionship for thousands of years, but do the animals ever get anything in return? In Man & Beast with Martin Clunes, Doc Martin star and animal lover Martin Clunes sets out to answer this question. Martin’s journey takes him around the world, where he witnesses everything from monkeys picking coconuts in Southeast Asia to cormorants working as “fishermen” in Japan to a snake festival in Italy. Man & Beast with Martin Clunes premieres Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV.
Using these first-hand observations and conversations with locals, MAN & BEAST WITH MARTIN CLUNES provides an in-depth look at the evolution, impact and cultural significance of the relationships between man and beast. This twopart nature series also includes a visit to Martin’s dairy farm in the English countryside, where he discusses his conflicted feelings about raising cattle that will eventually be slaughtered.
