Backstage Pass with Gregory Kunde and Linda Wojciechowski on Classical 91.5

(Rochester, NY) – It’s been over nine years since tenor Gregory Kunde and his wife soprano Linda Wojciechowski joined Julia Figueras for an appearance on Backstage Pass. Since that time, Mr. Kunde has won multiple honors, and has become one of opera’s most sought-after tenors. The talented couple joins us for an hour of song and conversation on Backstage Pass with Gregory Kunde and Linda Wojciechowski airing Friday, June 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5. and repeats Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 1pm.

Mr. Kunde is an American operatic tenor particularly associated with the French and Italian repertoires. Regarded as one of the most accomplished singers on the international opera stage today, the American tenor appears regularly at the most prestigious opera houses around the world, working with conductors and orchestras of the highest calibre. Kunde’s achievements have been recognized with a number of awards, most recently with ‘Male Singer of the Year’ at the 2016 International Opera Awards.He made his professional debut in 1978 with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Since then he has gone on to such notables as the Metropolitan Opera, Canada's Opéra de Montréal and has won considerable acclaim in Europe. 

Ms. Wojciechowski earned her undergraduate performance degree from Eastman School of Music, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Rochester and a Master’s Degree from Ohio State University. While completing her academic pursuits, the young soprano made her debut on stage at the Chautauqua Opera as an apprentice in their young artists’ program and went on to sing in regional houses throughout the United States. A featured soloist with the Rochester-based Gregory Kunde Chorale and other local musical groups, Ms. Wojciechowski has appeared with great success as Violetta in La Traviata, the Countess in La Nozze di Figaro, and Hanna in The Merry Widow, among others.

Backstage Pass is a monthly live performance program that gives listeners the backstage experience of meeting local and visiting artists “up close and personal.”
