The Metropolitan Opera's National Council Auditions draw thousands of singers every year, each vying for a cash prize, a role on the Met stage and, if all goes well, a shot at big time opera. The 2015 finalists are: Nicholas Brownlee, bass-baritone; Jared Bybee, baritone; Marina Costa-Jackson, soprano; Allegra De Vita, mezzo-soprano; Joseph Dennis, tenor; Kathryn Henry, soprano; Reginald Smith, Jr., baritone; Deniz Uzun, mezzo-soprano; and Virginie Verrez, mezzo-soprano.
