Legends of the Sky: The Jenny

(Rochester, NY) – Legends of the Sky: The Jenny takes viewers back to the era of the Wright Brothers and Glenn Curtiss as they competed to build a newer, better, faster aeroplane for America… just as the drums of War were sounding in Europe. The hour-long documentary airs on WXXI-TV Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10 p.m.

The JN4 Jenny aeroplane became the first mass produced aerial trainer, the first to carry the U.S. Air Mail, and the first to introduce America to the sky through its colorful barnstorming story.The Jenny taught such greats as Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart to fly. Find out why and learn how this icon became the foundation upon which modern aviation rests.

Stunning aerial images shot in High Definition, aviation experts share personal stories, and historic newsreels and photographs never seen before bring the story of the Jenny to life.
