Live from Hochstein: Merit Scholarship Winners
(Rochester, N.Y.) – Hochstein’s Merit Scholarship winners kick off this season of Live from Hochstein. Each spring Hochstein has a series of auditions for its students who compete for Merit Scholarship Awards. The winners of the Grades 11-12 not only receive a cash award, but the chance to perform on the season premiere of Live from Hochstein in the spring. On the season premiere of Live from Hochstein, Wednesday, March 18 at 12:10 p.m. on Classical 91.5, you'll hear performances by Merit winners: Xilin Zhou, clarinet student of Hochstein’s Peggy Quackenbush and junior at Webster Shroeder HS and Oksana Miller, guitar student of Tim Shannon and senior at Brighton HS.
Hosted by Classical 91.5's Mona Seghatoleslami, Live from Hochstein is the longest running live broadcast concert series in Western New York. Broadcast live from the Hochstein Performance Hall (50 North Plymouth Ave. in Rochester), the series presents performances by some of the finest artists from the Rochester area’s musical community. Each of these free “brown bag” concerts runs from 12:10-12:50 p.m., giving downtown business people, teachers, families, students and friends an opportunity to enjoy classical music during their lunch hour.
Live from Hochstein airs every Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. on Classical 91.5 through May 13, 2015.
