The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass

(Rochester, NY) – Commissioned by Mike and Kay McCarthy and brilliantly executed by composer Carol Barnett and librettist Marisha Chamberlain, The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass blends the classical mass, modern choral sophistication, touching poetry and traditional bluegrass instrumentation into an exhilarating musical experience. Recorded at Rochester’s Third Presbyterian Church in November 2013, The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass airs Thursday, November 27 at 12 p.m. on Classical 91.5.

Performers include: soprano, Keely Futterer; alto, Kelsey Robertson; tenor, Matthew Swensen; fiddler, Sara Mueller; Tom Mueller on mandolin; Ben Proctor, banjo; Austin Wahl, guitar; and Fumi Tomita, bass.  Peter DuBois is Director of Music and Organist.
