Norm & Company: Jim Brush

(Rochester, NY) – Jim Brush, President & CEO of Sentry Group, Inc., joins WXXI President Norm Silverstein for an episode of Norm & Company, a monthly series where long-time Rochesterians recount fascinating stories about their lives in our community. Jim shares stories of what keeps SentrySafe here in Rochester, why they brought production back from China, and their philosophy on employee relations and community outreach. Jim and his brother Douglas (Chairman at Sentry) own Sentry Group, a privately held manufacturer and marketer of fire resistant safes, files, and chests based. The company manufactures out of its own facilities in Rochester, New York and Cannelton, Indiana and sells to major mass market retailers in the US, Europe, and Asia. Jim is also on the boards at Caldwell Manufacturing, The United Way, and The Children’s Agenda, an early childhood education advocacy organization. Jim is a trustee at St. Lawrence University. In 2011, he and his brother were awarded the Herbert W. Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award for Sentry Group’s continued success and contribution to the Rochester economy.
