Doc Martin, Season 6

(Rochester, New York) –  Fan favorite Martin Clunes (Men Behaving Badly) is back as the surly, self-centered Dr. Martin Ellingham.  In the sixth series, the doctor tackles fatherhood and his complicated relationship with local teacher Louisa. WXXI kicks off the new season of Doc Martin with the premiere of the first three episodes, airing back-to-back, on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV.

In "Sickness and Health," airing at 8 p.m., Portwenn is buzzing with arrangements for the wedding of the Doc and Louisa. Will they finally tie the knot, or will the villagers have to put the confetti back in the box again? Then, in episdoe two, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?", airing at 9 p.m. Martin and Louisa host a disastrous dinner party, the new nanny walks out, and Morwenna advertises for a lodger. The evening concludes with "The Tameness of a Wolf" at 10 p.m. In this episode, Ruth is invited on Radio Portwenn and attracts an unwanted mystery admirer. Doc and Louisa find a replacement nanny. And Louisa is Bert's least favorite person when one of her pupils pens a damning review of his restaurant in the school magazine.

On Thursday, March 14 the marathon continues with three more episodes airing back-to-back starting at 8 p.m. The evening kicks off with "Nobody Likes Me" where Martin is coerced into taking James to playgroup, while Ruth is having problems with her new neighbor. At 9 p.m. it's "The Practice around the Corner." Mrs. Tishell returns to the village. Martin has to work out what is wrong with beachcomber Lorna. Al and Morwenna each have an internet dating disaster, and romance is blossoming for Bert. Finally, "Hazardous Exposure" airs at 10 p.m. Martin's mother returns to Portwenn with some interesting news. Penhale spreads pandemonium throughout the village at the drop of the word "asbestos" and Bert has a question for Jennifer.

The season concludes with the final two episodes airing Thursday, March 20 and 27 at 8 p.m.
