Doc Martin Marathon

(Rochester, NY) – Fans of the popular Doc Martin series should clear their schedules for Doc Martin Night! On Thursday, November 15, 2012, WXXI will air Doc Martin: The Movie at 8 p.m., Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie at 9:28 p.m., and Doc Martin I, Episode ! at 10:45 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11). Highly popular in England, watch Martin Clunes star as London surgeon turned small town general practitioner in this witty and comedic drama.

WXXI-TV kicks off the night at 8 p.m. with Doc Martin: The Movie. After discovering that his wife has been having affairs with three of his friends, Dr. Martin Bamford escapes to the sleepy coastal town of Port Isaac. There, he works through an identity crisis, and encounters many interesting characters along the way.

At 9:28 p.m. WXXI presents Doc Martin and the Legend of the Cloutie. The Doc is in need of a bit of distance from the small village of Port Issac, so when the local real estate agent shows him the ramshackle, middle-of-nowhere property Tregrunnt Farm, it's love at first sight. But the Bowden family from London also has their eye on the property with a view to developing the surrounding land into ugly holiday cottages. After being gazumped, the Doc decides to try to spook the family into leaving by pretending to be the locally legendary Beast of Bodmin.

The evening concludes with a 10:45 p.m. broadcast of the first episode of the Doc Martin series, season one.  As Doc Martin moves in and meets the locals, he realizes that adjusting to village life is not going to be smooth sailing. In his sharp suits and flashy car, he's a fish out of water.
