Michael Mosley and James Wong examine the physics, chemistry and biology that lie hidden in every bite of food we eat.

Understanding the deep evolutionary roots of human reactions and cravings for food offers a new way of thinking about our relationship to the modern diet. Food – Delicious Science, a three-part series, premieres May 17 at 10 p.m. with Food on the Brain, where Michael Mosley and James Wong discover how the chemistry in our food affects our brains and creates our deepest cravings.

On May 24 at 10 p.m. the series continues with A Matter of Taste. In this episode Mosley and Wong learn about the science that makes our food taste delicious and the powerful effect it has on our tongue and nose. And, on May 31 at 10 p.m. the series concludes with We Are What We Eat. Mosely and Wong travel around the world to learn how the hidden chemistry in every mouthful of food keeps our bodies fit and healthy.
