WXXI Brings "Genealogy Roadshow" Host Kenyatta Berry to The Little April 4th

(Rochester, NY) March, 21, 2016 – Renowned genealogist and host of PBS’ Genealogy Roadshow Kenyatta Berry comes to The Little Theatre (L1, 240 East Ave, Rochester) on Monday April 4th from 6:30pm-8pm. Kenyatta will be showing clips from the upcoming new season of Genealogy Roadshow, as well as sharing some of her own rich family history that has roots in Genesee, Livingston, and Monroe counties. After her presentation, Kenyatta will answer questions from the audience. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6pm. Seats are first come, first served.

On Genealogy Roadshow, Kenyatta provides her research chops and significant expertise to help participants unravel mysteries and make discoveries about their families. Kenyatta began her genealogical journey while in law school and studying at the State Library of Michigan in Lansing.  With nearly 20 years of experience in genealogical research and writing, her practice focuses on African- American and slave ancestral research.

Genealogy Roadshow uses history, genealogy and genetics to connect participants nationwide to their own family histories, to their communities and to the rich cultural tapestry of America. The series’ third season, premiering May 17 at 8pm on WXXI-TV, travels to six new cities – Boston, Providence, Miami, Houston, Albuquerque and Los Angeles – to uncover and share more compelling, mysterious and unique local histories. The stories from this season’s diverse cast of participants range from the Salem Witch Trials and Billy the Kid to historic war heroes and a covert CIA operative.
