Tune in for a Christmas Eve tradition.

The Rochester Festival of Lessons and Carols has been a Christmas Eve tradition for over a half-century at the Third Presbyterian Church. It has also been a WXXI broadcast tradition, and can be heard on Tuesday, December 24, 2015 at 11 p.m.on Classical 91.5. Choir director Peter DuBois, host of With Heart and Voice, leads the Chancel Choir in a traditional Lessons and Carols service, including music by Boris Ord, Z Randall Stroope, Bryan Kelly, Richard Purvis and Johann Von Herbeck.

The program will repeat on Friday, December 25 at 6pm on Classical 91.5.

Third Presbyterian’s Chancel Choir, under the direction of Peter DuBois, provides musical leadership for the service. The choir is recognized for its performance of English Church Music. In 2001 the group served as choir-in-residence at the Rochester Cathedral in Kent, England, singing the daily service of Evensong. And in 2005, they were selected as choir-in-residence at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. The choir includes both professional and talented amateur singers, drawing on the rich talent of the Eastman School of Music, the local musical community, and the congregation of Third Presbyterian.

Peter DuBois is Director of Music/Organist at Third Presbyterian Church; he is also Director of the Sacred Music Diploma Program at the Eastman School of Music, and he hosts the weekly radio program With Heart and Voice on Classical 91.5, which is heard on over 100 public radio stations across the country.
