A Voice of the Voter Debate, Candidate Free Air Time, and Election Night Coverage

As we gear up for Election Night, WXXI News is working hard to provide you with the information and resources you need to cast an informative vote. This includes last Monday's Voice of the Voter debate for the Monroe County Executive race. Former Brighton supervisor Sandra Frankel (Democratic, Working Families and Women’s Equality Parties), Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo (Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Parties), and Rajesh Barnabas (Green Party), who shared their platforms and took questions from our Voice of the Voter panelists. Voice of the Voter is a collaboration among WXXI, Democrat and Chronicle, 13WHAM-TV and WDKX 103.9, which is committed to bringing citizens’ concerns to the forefront in political issues. If you missed the debate, you can watch it online by clicking here. 

One of the best resources WXXI provides for voters is Candidate Free Air Time. WXXI is proud to continue our commitment to inform citizens by offering candidates the opportunity to deliver a free message directly to voters. This Thursday (October 29) and Friday (October 30) from 12pm-1pm on WRUR-FM 88.5, AM 1370, and online at, you'll hear these messages in a special broadcast during the first hour of Connections with Evan Dawson. The video segments will also be available to view at at the end of the week. This not only gives you a broader understanding of the candidates running, but also the chance to experience them without the distraction and hyperbole of a political ad.
