WXXI’S ANNUAL ONLINE AUCTION RUNS APRIL 18-MAY 2 AND FEATURES THOUSANDS OF ITEMS UP FOR BID

(Rochester, New York) April 15, 2015 – Four local artists have donated original artwork to WXXI’s Online Auction in support of Rochester’s public broadcasting station. The Auction, which kicks off Saturday April 18 at WXXI.org/auction, will include original pieces by painter Cordell Cordaro, painter and muralist Shawnee Hill, muralist Michael Moncibaiz, and Roycroft Master Artisan Laura Wilder. In addition to artwork, the Auction features thousands of items, including a 2015 Magnetic Ford Focus from Shepard Ford, a family pack of 2015-2016 Amerks Tickets, an Original Acrylic on Canvas by Artist Peter Max titled “Mona Lisa”, an Ekornes Leather Chair and Ottoman, and much more!
Registration is open now to acquire a bidder’s account at WXXI.org/auction. When you register, activate an existing account, or sign up to receive Auction emails, you’ll automatically receive an electronic voucher for two free tickets to the Little Theatre. If you overbid on any item valued at $25 or more, you’ll receive special coupons for Cabot Cheese, The Distillery, and Hedonist Chocolates.
The Auction will continue its Daily Deals, which include a $300 Gift Card from Hart’s Local Grocers, $500 Shopping Spree from Parkleigh, a Summer Share from the Good Food Collective and more! WXXI will unveil these Daily Deals at WXXI.org/auction and on WXXI’s Annual Online Auction Facebook page each day, and all items start with a $1 opening bid.
Proceeds from WXXI’s Annual Online Auction support the quality programs and services the station provides to the Rochester community, including PBS and NPR programming; locally produced documentaries such as Music for Life: The Story of New Horizons, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Boynton House: The Next Hundred Years, and Restoring a Masterpiece: The Renovation of the Eastman Theatre; locally produced TV series such as Second Opinion, Homework Hotline, and Need to Know, Arts InFocus, and radio series like Fascinatin’ Rhythm and With Heart and Voice; WXXI's Educational Video Library service, PBS Learning Media; and outreach initiatives such as teacher workshops, community forums, and film screenings.
