Brockport Residents Decide to Keep Village

Residents have decided against dissolving the Village of Brockport.

The vote was 953 to 657 (59% to 41%) against the proposition to dissolve the village. Affidavit ballots will be counted Wednesday, but are not expected to change the outcome.

The vote was the first using a process set up by the NY Attorney General's office whereby municipalities can explore the potential cost savings of reducing a layer of government.
