Miguel León Portilla, a Mexican anthropologist, compiled native accounts of the Spanish conquest of Mexico, publishing them in Visión de los Vencidos (Visions of the Vanquished, 1959) to present a choronological account from the perspective of the Indians of Mexico, including the Mexica (Aztec) and the Tlaxcala.

10/8      Visions of the Vanquished   La voz de los vencidos, a book by Mexican historian Miguel León Portilla was instrumental in changing the view that Latin Americans had about the clash of cultures and the cultural genocide that took place in the continent.
