This week – host Frank Dominguez introduces you to a leader of the movement toward nationalism in late 19th-century Spanish music.
This week on Concierto Spanish composer Enrique Granados is in the spotlight. Frank Dominguez shares his famous Spanish Dance No. 5 and his masterpiece Goyescas.
Concierto, a weekly program of classical music presented in Spanish and English, features classical music by Latin American and Spanish composers and musicians. The series will airs on Classical 91.5 Tuesdays at 10 p.m. On this edition of Concierto, host Frank Dominguez shares music by L’Arpeggiata, Christina Pluhar’s early music ensemble and songs from Argentina by Hilda Herrera and Ástor Piazzolla.
Concierto is the nation’s first bi-lingual classical music program of its kind. Whether you are a huge Classical music fan or just a casual listener, you’ll enjoy this series that celebrates classical music of Latin American and Spanish composers and musicians. Hosted by Frank Dominguez, the series offers a freely-accessible path to classical music appreciation.
