Tune in to WXXI's brodcast of the Mozart Festival this February. The program features performances by some of Europe's world class orchestras and behind the scenes features, all celebrating the life and work of the one and only Mozart.

2/8        A program featuring Mozart: Serenade Haffner, performed by the Vienna Philharmonic with Marc Minkowski conducting, Mozart: Symphony Prague, performed by the Camerata Salzburg with Louis Langrée conducting, and a special feature: Digital Mozart with Ulrich Leisinger, Director of Research at the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation

2/15      A line-up of Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 Allegro, performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Robin Ticciati, Mozart: Quintet, performed by an international quintet comprised of violinists Alina Ibragimóva (Russia) and Renaud Capuçon (France); violists Gérard Caussé (France) and Léa Hennino (France); and ‘cellist Clemens Hagan (Austria). Additionally, a special feature:  First Edition Mozart with Armin Brinzing, Director of Bibliotheca Mozartiana at the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation.

2/22     Mozart: Andante from Serenade Haffner, performed by the Vienna Philharmonic with Marc Minkowski conducting, Mozart: Quintet in g with the same international group of artists as the 2/15 broadcast, Mozart: Mass in C, Gloria with soloists Sophie Mitterhuber, soprano; Bernadette Furch, alto; Maximilian Kiener, tenor; André Schuen, bass; and Heribert Metzger, organ joined by Salzburg Cathedral Chorus & Orchestra with Janos Czifra, conductor, and Mozart: Biancheggia in mar lo scoglio from Il sogno di Scipione with Christiane Karg, soprano and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under the baton of Ivor Bolton.
