Last February WXXI presented a pilot episode of Unleashed: The Pet Show. Thanks to listeners’ feedback and production funding from Rufus Kendig, The Richard T. Bell Foundation, and The Lilliputian Foundation, Unleashed is now a monthly series. The program, hosted by WXXI's Evan Dawson, looks at behavioral issues, the human-animal connection, pet health and care, rescue, therapy and work animals, animal intelligence, and more. Part of special Friday programming on Connections, Unleashed, which premiered last Friday, is available as a podcast. WXXI's Beth Adams serves as contributing reporter – producing special segments for the show and joining Dawson in studio. Unleashed guests will include a veterinarian, animal trainer, author, and/or pet owner – who will share valuable information and inspiring animal stories. Unleashed, which will air the third Friday of every month on AM 1370, WRUR-FM 88.5 and WEOS-FM 89.5, is underwritten locally by Natural Pet Foods and The Sartini Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.
