We stand in solidarity with the Buffalo community

Once again, we must bear the shock, hurt and heartache of a racially motivated mass shooting, this time just down the thruway from us in Buffalo. Our hearts go out to the victims, survivors, their families and to all that have been touched by this horrific event.

It’s important that we support each other and that we do our best to help our community cope.

Hate and bigotry have no place in our lives, and we know that many people are hurting. WXXI, The Little and CITY News stand in solidarity with Buffalo as they heal through this tragic event.

WXXI to acquire CITY Newspaper

As you may have heard, we are kicking off 2019 with a good news story about independent media in our community. WXXI has signed a letter of intent to acquire CITY Newspaper and its digital platforms. Mary Anna and Bill Towler, founders and co-publishers of CITY Newspaper, approached WXXI with the desire to extend the service of the newspaper beyond their eventual retirement.
