I would like to send my thanks to everyone who made a pledge during our one-day radio drive at the end of June. Your support helped us end our fiscal year stronger -- and also helps us springboard into the next fiscal year. There is certain to be no shortage of fresh programming that WXXI will be bringing your way! We are only a few months away from November's pivotal presidential run and there will be countless compelling stories and exciting races to be covered as the election season hits full steam. You can trust that WXXI News will be right there helping put into perspective the key stories, providing debates, and doing it all without the barrage of political advertising you're certain to experience on the commercial stations.
This coming September will also mark the premiere of our highly-anticipated documentary, Frank Lloyd Wright's Boynton House: The Next Hundred Years. You will be hearing much more about what we have planned for the program's release, but suffice to say, there will be a great deal of buzz in the next several months leading up to the premiere. Classical 91.5 will continue to fill our radio studio with inspiring performances and interviews on Backstage Pass, as well as showcase the best symphonies from around the world thoughout the summer. And for fans of WRUR and WITH, look for us at the upcoming Grassroots Festival in Ithaca as we will, once again, be the only radio station broadcasting live from the festival site. Speaking of festivals, if you missed catching up with WXXI at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, we will be at all the upcoming summer festivals from Corn Hill to Park Ave.
Though that's just a glimpse into what we have planned, none of it would be possible without your support. Your membership and your belief in the importance of public media in our community make all these programs and events possible!
