"Second Opinion" receives a Daytime Emmy nomination

We recently received word that Second Opinion, WXXI's nationally distributed healthcare series, and its host Dr. Peter Salgo had been nominated for a Daytime Emmy® Award in the Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host category. The Second Opinion team and Peter are up against an impressive list of other nominees which include: Dr. Mehmet Oz of The Dr. Oz Show, Larry King of Larry King Now, Steve Harvey of Steve Harvey, and The Chew co-hosts Mario Batali, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, Daphne Oz, and Michael Symon

Peter has been an integral part of Second Opinion from the very first episode. Now in its 13th season, Second Opinion presents intriguing, real-life medical cases to specialists, who grapple with diagnosis and treatment options to give viewers the most up-to-date, accurate medical information. Each week, Peter engages a panel of medical professionals and patients in honest, in-depth discussions about life-changing medical decisions.

Peter is actually more than a host. He is a caring and conscientious doctor, who uses media to help people take charge of their health. We could not be more proud of Peter, or of the producers and doctors who work on Second Opinion for receiving a nomination for one of the most prestigious awards in the entire television industry. We hope the entire Rochester community shares in our pride for this recognition, especially our local partners at the University of Rochester Medical Center, our production partner West 175 Productions, and our underwriter Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA).

The Daytime Emmy winners will be announced on May 1st in Los Angeles. So stay tuned!
