As April is upon us and it brings with it more than just the first hint of spring. April is also Public Radio Music Month  — a national campaign to help raise the visibility of the diverse music that can only be found on public radio. We are fortunate in our community to have two such stations: Classical 91.5 and WRUR 88.5. Weekday Classical hosts Brenda Tremblay, Julia Figueras, and Mona Seghatoleslami treat listeners to distinctly selective pieces helping make Classical 91.5 the most listened-to classical public radio station in the country. On the other side of the musical spectrum, WRUR presents an eclectic array of artists including three hours of Open Tunings with Scott Regan each morning — with Scott often bringing musicians in to play and chat live on the air.

We live in a community rich in the arts and the acclaim of Classical 91.5 and WRUR gives voice to fans across the musical spectrum. Music on public radio connects you with local, regional and national artists and concerts from around the world. You hear interviews and performances by major musicians who are traveling through the Greater Rochester area. Only public radio will provide you with those personal music moments. During April, WXXI is joining with public radio stations across the country to celebrate Public Radio Music Month, and we'd like to hear your story of the musical memory that public radio has created for you.
