Kicking off our Winter Membership Campaign with a great line up of programs

As we move from Thanksgiving to enjoying the rest of the holiday season, WXXI joins in the holiday spirit with new – and classic – favorite television programs to mark our Winter Membership Campaign. Our selections range from incredible music such as Andrea Bocelli on Great Performances (which aired 12/2), 60s Pop, Rock & Soul (which aired 12/3), and Celtic Woman (airing 12/5 at 8 p.m.) to absorbing documentaries like American Masters’ profile of Lucille Ball (that aired 12/1) and Ed Sullivan Comedy Special (airing 12/12 at 9 p.m.), to our Night of Local Treasures on Wednesday, December 7 starting at 8 p.m., which includes, Great Homes of Rochester, Restoring a Masterpiece: The Renovation of the Eastman Theatre and a preview of our new documentary on the restoration of  Frank Lloyd Wright's Boynton House on East Blvd. in Rochester.

You will still see cornerstone programs such as The PBS NewsHour, and our award-winning children’s line-up, but we’re also taking the opportunity to showcase the variety, quality and enrichment programs that only public broadcasting offers. It’s a time to celebrate the diversity of programming that you can expect from WXXI, and a chance for new viewers to discover the benefits that their membership in WXXI provides.

I hope you enjoy our selections and see the value of membership in public broadcasting. And if you are already a member, I encourage you to make a year-end gift. Your pledge of support not only gives you an additional tax-credit, but it also goes a long way in helping WXXI provide the essential programs and services that many in the Greater Rochester area depend on.
