WXXI, the Little Theatre, and CITY News are dedicated to the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and we are doing the hard work of looking inside and outside of our organizations to make sure that we are living up to our DEI promise. As part of this work, we have put in place a DEI Council made up of staff, board members and volunteers.

Once again, we must bear the shock, hurt and heartache of a racially motivated mass shooting, this time just down the thruway from us in Buffalo. Our hearts go out to the victims, survivors, their families and to all that have been touched by this horrific event.

It’s important that we support each other and that we do our best to help our community cope.

This year marks my 25th anniversary and I recently sat down with the Rochester Business Journal to talk about the work of WXXI over the last quarter of a century. I thought I'd share the piece with you here. Click the link for a pdf of the profile

Have you seen the mural of the late Rep. John Lewis at 55 State Street in downtown Rochester? Covering 3,000 square feet of wall space, it is stunning and should definitely be seen in person!

10/23/2020 - 8:20am

WXXI is proud to be a partner in Rochester’s 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge, joining more than 400 local organizations working toward a goal of broadening the discussion and understanding of racial equity and strengthening our ability to dismantle all forms of racism.

09/01/2020 - 11:00pm

We are excited that CITY News is back in publication this month with the launch of a new monthly magazine. At the end of March, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend printing the weekly CITY Newspaper and transitioned all stories and reporting online to roccitynews.org.

07/20/2020 - 3:40pm

July 26, 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of President George H. W. Bush’s signing into law the Americans with Disabilities Act. To commemorate this landmark law, WXXI and the Golisano Foundation present special programming, virtual screenings, and news features.

06/24/2020 - 10:26am

The last few months have been incredibly difficult for all of us, and the protests and riots in June have added to the stress that so many of us are feeling. Our community is hurting, and the healing process is going to take some time. WXXI, CITY Newspaper and the Little Theatre stand in solidarity with all those who are committed to fighting racial injustice.
