Nocturne: Blue and Silver—Battersea Reach by James McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903).  Whistler's series of nighttime landscapes, which he entitled "nocturnes," inspired Debussy's orchestral works of the same name.

This month includes Debussy's Nocturnes and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in addition to other works by Ives, Sibelius, Stravinsky, Brahms and Beethoven.
