Host Mona Seghatoleslami & The Chroma Piano Trio

The Chroma Piano Trio from NYC brings expressive playing and resonant sound to a program of music by Antonin Dvorak and Joseph Suk. Special for Public Radio Music Month - you can listen to an archived stream of this program, online throughout April.

WXXI and Hochstein School of Music and Dance present the Chroma Piano Trio on Wednesday April 17th at 12:10 p.m. on Classical 91.5, 90.3, and streaming online at

The Chroma Piano Trio
is Nurit Pacht (violin), Caroline Stinson (cello), and Priya Mayadas (piano). All three artists have prominent recital, orchestral, and chamber music careers and are recognized for their unique creative perspectives.

The New York Times has praised the members’ “vigorous…carefully shaped [and] polished performances, with elegance and energy finely balanced, and an admirably thoughtful approach...” As soloists and as an ensemble, the three share a musical vision: to play with expressive resonance and every gradation of color and intensity, or chroma.

Collaborations at the Morgan Library & Museum, Bargemusic, JCC Thurnauer and Maison Française/New York University in New York, the Kerrytown Concert House and Community House in Michigan and the Northeast Kingdom Classical Series in Vermont received critical acclaim and standing ovations, and inspired the group to pursue new concerts and recordings together.

Hosted by Classical 91.5's Mona Seghatoleslami, Live from Hochstein is the longest running live broadcast concert series in Western New York. Broadcast live from the Hochstein Performance Hall (50 North Plymouth Ave. in Rochester), the series presents performances by some of the finest artists from the Rochester area’s musical community. Each of these free “brown bag” concerts runs from 12:10-12:50 p.m., giving downtown business people, teachers, families, students and friends an opportunity to enjoy classical music during their lunch hour.

Live from Hochstein repeats that same day at 10 p.m. on Classical 91.5, 90.3, and streaming online at
