New York Wine & Table
Sat, 12/06/2008 - 12:00pm
On Saturday, December 6 at 12 noon New York Wine & Table host Susan Hunt will be in WXXI-TV's studio to introduce three episodes of this series, and share what it was like to take this culinary journey through New York's most beautiful regions. Shot in high-definition, the series features the region's finest food, wine, agriculture, restaurants, people and landscapes. In each episode, Susan explores how agriculture moves from the farm to the table, while co-host Chef Dan, former Executive Chef for the New York Wine & Culinary Center, prepares a savory dish using a featured agriculture product. New York Wine & Table is a highly educational, interactive, and entertaining experience.
The three episodes featured in this mini-marathon are:
Wine, where Susan travels from the tip of Long Island to the brink of Niagara Falls as she delves into New York’s internationally acclaimed wineries. Chef Dan prepares a Riesling braised cabbage and bratwurst dish.
Finger Lakes East, where Susan delves into the heart of the Finger Lakes and discovers why it is fast becoming known as the Napa Valley of the East. Chef Dan prepares a maple glazed onion and goat cheese tart.
Finger Lakes West, where it’s Festival time in the Finger Lakes and, from sauerkraut to grapes, Susan Hunt explores them all. Susan also visits several Finger Lakes wineries and Chef Dan Martello prepares a grape, blue cheese, and candied walnut salad tossed with endive and radicchio.
After this special three episode marathon, New York Wine & Table will resume its usual timeslot -- Sundays at 2 p.m. beginning December 21st.
New York Wine & Table was co-produced by WXXI and the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.
