Leading up to the fall High Holy Days of the Jewish Faith, WXXI presents a new eight-week series about The Golden Age of the Cantor (1920-1960). The Art of The Cantor airs Sundays at 1 p.m., beginning August 9 on Classical 91.5/HD91.5-1.
Hazzan Alberto Mizrahi, The Cantor of Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago, provides historical background and personal insight into the lives and voices of some of the greatest Cantors, spiritual and musical leaders of the Jewish world in the 20th century. Each of the eight episodes will feature a different musical theme.
