WXXI-TV offers an alternative to watching the big game with Super Drama Sunday!
If watching the big game isn't your cup of tea, spend the afternoon with us. We'll kick the day of with Little Women on Masterpiece at 11 a.m. on Sunday, February 12. Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, the story follows sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March on their journey from childhood to adulthood. With the help of their mother, Marmee, and while their father is away at war, the girls navigate what it means to be a young woman: from sibling rivalry and first love, to loss and marriage.
The Super Drama line-up continues with:
Emma from 2 to 6 p.m. Unmarried and glad of it, Emma Woodhouse (Romola Garai) thinks herself the perfect matchmaker for others. Her friend Mr. Knightley (Jonny Lee Miller) has his doubts. Undeterred, she takes on the matrimonial cause of Harriet Smith (Louise Dylan), with unanticipated results.
Miss Scarlet and the Duke on Masterpiece “The Jewel of the North” from 8 to 9 p.m. The season comes to an explosive climax when Eliza receives a bomb in the mail. Who sent it and why? Eliza teams up with Duke, Moses and her old enemy Patrick Nash to find out who is behind the deadly delivery.
All Creatures Great and Small on Masterpiece “For Whom the Bell Tolls” from 9 to 10 p.m. James finds a case of TB while testing his father-in-law's herd. Could it be the end of the farm? Meanwhile, Tristan proposes marriage while Mrs Hall tries to save an abandoned dog. Suddenly, Britain declares a state of war.
Vienna Blood “Death is Now a Welcome Guest” from 10 to 11 p.m. Max and Oskar hunt for men with fanatical devotions and dangerous obsessions after tragedy strikes at a silent film premiere.
