Sir David Attenborough travels the globe to reveal the secret lives of plants. Using pioneering camera techniques, the series takes viewers on a magical journey inside the hidden world of plants, on which all animals — including humans — are dependent.

Having already examined water and tropical worlds, "Desert Worlds" explores the desert. Each is a uniquely challenging place to live and in each we see how plants have found a way to survive and thrive. The Green Planet: Desert Worlds airs Wednesday, July 27 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV.
