Pop Up in a Park - Summer Series
Pop Up in a Park - Summer Series
Tue, 07/27/2021 - 9:00am - Tue, 08/10/2021 - 12:00am
Join WXXI Kids & Monroe County Library System as we Pop Up in a Park this summer!
WXXI Kids, Monroe County Library System, and a few of our friends will be visiting a bunch of parks in the region to have fun in our local green spaces. We'd love for you and your family to come see us and enjoy the parks too! Our goal is to get outside, learn about the different ways we can play and explore in a green space, and safely spend time together. Families and groups are encouraged to bring any necessary items for outdoor time (i.e. sunscreen, water, snacks/lunch, other play items, etc.).
- What: WXXI Kids, Monroe County Library System, and other local friends (such as New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Inclusive Woods & Us, GROW Bus, Wild Wings, and more) will be hanging out in some green spaces in our region. We'll be handing out activity materials, leading nature hikes, and playing outside!
- Who: Any family or summer group with kiddos ages 0-12 -- all are welcome!
- Where: Parks and green spaces around Monroe County - see below for the full list of locations. There will be signage day-of to direct folks to the specific location at each park.
- When: Once a week beginning the week of June 21 through the week of August 9
- No registration needed and all events are free and open to the public!
- COVID Safety Measures: To ensure the safety of the 0-12 age children at our events, WXXI Kids and MCLS are putting the following COVID Safety Measures in place. All families and groups are asked to follow these expectations while participating in the events:
- Masks for all participants and partner organizations (this includes all grownups and children)
- Maintaining social distancing while at community partner tables and activities
- Hand-sanitizer will be available
