Daniel meets a new friend, Max, who is autistic.

In celebration of Autism Acceptance Month, WXXI is pleased to introduce our youngest viewers to Daniel Tiger's new friend Max in these two segments, airing Monday, April 5 at 9:30 a.m. on WXXI-TV. First, Daniel learns what he can do when Max needs more time to get comfortable and more space to play in his own way. Then, in the second segment, A New Friend at the Clock Factory, Daniel is at Chime Time with his new friend, Max. When Max is overwhelmed by the bright lights and loud sounds, Daniel and his friends learn what they can do to help make a calmer Chime Time so Max can play, too.

This program is part of WXXI's Move to Include initiative in partnership with the Golisano Foundation that is designed to promote inclusion for people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Through programming and special events, WXXI and the Golisano Foundation look to build a more inclusive community by inspiring and motivating people to embrace different abilities and include all people in every aspect of community life.
