WXXI and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation are hosting two educator trainings to support the new PBS series, the Age of Nature.

THE AGE OF NATURE is a brand new three-part documentary series, exploring how an increased awareness of the natural world is leading to a new chapter in the story of both humanity and the planet. The series focuses on the resiliency of Earth’s ecosystems through stories of success, as scientists, citizens and governments act to fix past mistakes and restore the environment. THE AGE OF NATURE premieres Wednesdays, October 14, 21, and 28 at 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET on WXXI-TV.

What: Join WXXI Education and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) for an educator training using tools and resources from the new PBS series, the Age of Nature. We will also be sharing resources available from NYSDEC and other public media partners that are appropriate to support the conversation around conservation, sustainability, nature-rebounding, and more. 

When: We are hosting 2 identical trainings on: (1) Tuesday, October 13 at 4 p.m. ET, or (2) Wednesday, October 21 at 4 p.m. ET

Where: Virtual! (Participants will receive the log-in information via email once registered for the event)

Who: The event is open to any educators working with middle and high school students. Educators include: classroom teachers, school support staff, after-school and out-of-school staff, librarians, homeschooling adults, etc.

Participants will receive 2 hrs of NYS CTLE credits. Participants must complete both the training survey and CTLE form to receive the kit and credit.
